How is it in this day and age, that abusers find loopholes in the law?
Sad to say, but children are still considered property, and the laws are designed to protect the property owners.

i was at the hospital the other day in the waiting room for about 2 hours with a friend, and i noticed only one awake magazine from 2000 in the pile of reading material.. i always thought that the watchtower was trying to "preach the good news to all the inhabited earth before the end comes".
well , they don't like the internet, which is the # 1 way to inform people, you cannot get a subscription anymore unless someone at the hall does it for you or you are still attending, probaly why i didn't see any at the hospital, or lawyers office, or doctor's office etc etc etc.. it seems to me that they are trying to limit what info gets out to the outside world, is this not contradicting all they have preached the last 50 years.. no subscriptions for anyone who might want one ?????????.
no new books, for anyone who is not a jw.. what do you think ????????.
subscriptions to any magazine, are payable in advance, and the publisher agrees to send the next (usually) 12 months issues
I wonder if they are uncomfortable doing that, since their doctrines are being challenged so quickly. It may be harder for them to print issues in advance, what with all the ''new light'' needed applied so often. LOL

the most famous distortion in the nwt is john 1:1. the nwt inserts the word "a" in front of the second god in this verse.

Instead of arguing with people, and being determined to ''win'' you simply need to understand that
religion is personal. Do you understand?
No body doubts your personal relationship with your lord.
But the world is a big place. There are many different peoples, and it is not our job to ''convert'' people to our god.
What matters in the end is that we live in harmony with others....
All the religious leaders through the centuries, that have had enduring wisdom, have one thing in common, and that is to be kind to one another.
Remember the good Samaritan story? The point was, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR RELIGION, SHOW HUMAN COMPATION.
There must be hundreds of religions around the world, and everyone on the planet have the same wants, needs, and desires...
We are all the same, all human. We don't all have to be identical, and ''feel'' the same way. No one is damned for difference in opinion.
If you can come to understand that, then you will understand why some people are put off by you...
Try to work on that.... Just because everyone doesnt share your opinion, doesn't make them less valuable in society. If you cling to that ideology, then you haven't truly left the JW's.
I know athiest, wiccans, christians, jews, muslims, and agnostics who can handle their own, without taking away from others who don't share their veiwpoints.
Please, study up on the ''crusades'' and understand how this kind of gung-ho theology can mess things up, for centuries....
my wife, who is intent on re-activating herself as a dub since i da'd myself, went to the convention this past weekend.
she showed me this new publication entitled "learn from the great teacher", and placed great emphasis on these two pages i scanned and am posting.
it makes a poor show of telling children what to do when confronted by a child abuser.
The basic trouble is, any Jw raised child is taught from day one that the borg IS JAH.

At the root, this publication is sending a message, KEEP IT WITHIN GOD'S REALM.
Which is not of help to anyone suffering abuse.....

I think it is information control. I think the internet is seen as an educational tool and they are aware of the damage that a good education can bring, which is why they limited schooling beyond high school for so long...
i have been reading the threads for about a year now and thought its time to post my story.
i cant remember much up until i was ten except the usual no birthdays, no worldly friends or bad associates.
then it was a series of arguments of why i didnt what to go to church.
